ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND - DVD MovieScreenwriters rarely develop a distinctive voice that can be recognized from movie to movie, but the ornate imagination of Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) has made him a unique and much-needed cinematic presence. In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a guy decides to have the memories of his ex-girlfriend erased after she's had him erased from her own memory--but midway through the procedure, he changes his mind and struggles to hang on to their experiences together. In other hands, the premise of memory-erasing would become a trashy science-fiction thriller; Kaufman, along with director Michel Gondry, spins this idea into a funny, sad, structurally complex, a! nd simply enthralling love story that juggles morality, identity, and heartbreak with confident skill. The entire cast--Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Wilkinson, and more--give superb performances, carefully pitched so that cleverness never trumps feeling. A great movie. --Bret FetzerJoel (Jim Carrey) is stunned to discover that his girlfriend Clementine (Kate Winslet) has had their tumultuous relationship erased from her mind. Out of desperation, he contacts the inventor of the process, Dr. Howard Mierzwiak (Tom Wilkinson), to get the same treatment. Frag FX Shark Controller for PS3, PC and Mac

  • Wireless Controller for PS3, PC and MAC

  • more than 50 hours gameplay
  • brand new wireless technology
  • pixel precise performance
Miramax Films presents the wickedly offbeat love story, Eagle vs Shark, a funny, fractured romance between two total misfits woven into an all-consuming quest for revenge and shot through with the strange, sweet hilarity of the human condition. When Lily (Horsley), a lonely, oddball fast-food waitress and hopeless romantic, and Jarrod (Clement), another lonely oddball and video game clerk who has spent the last decade plotting revenge against a bully from high school, connect at a dress as your favorite animal party, it s a match seemingly made in outcast Heaven. But when Lily decides to risk everything for love, her hopes are nearly dashed as, after a brief fling, Jarrod dumps her because he s too busy t! raining for his all-important payback mission. But neither of them can anticipate the grit the steadfastly optimistic Lily will show in her heartbreak. As Jarrod's day of reckoning arrives and everything hits the fan, Jarrod and Lily will find something that goes beyond romantic fantasies and revenge faith in who they are.Since the 1980s, the nerd has triumphed in comedies from Weird Science to Napoleon Dynamite, but what about the female of the species? In Eagle vs. Shark, New Zealand's Taika Waititi presents his offbeat romance from the perspective of the likeably quirky Lily (co-writer Loren Horsley). The Meaty Boy cashier fantasizes about the sensitive yet boorish Jarrod (Jemaine Clement from HBO's Flight of the Conchords). Sporting the worst on-screen hairdo since Javier Bardem's pageboy in No Country for Old Men, the video-game wiz visits Lily's fast-food emporium daily, oblivious to the slouchy brunette with the shy smile. Except fo! r her cartoonist brother, Damon (Joel Tobeck), nobody else not! ices Lil y either. When she crashes Jarrod's costume party--dressed as a shark to his eagle--her fortunes begin to change, but there's a catch: Much like Adam Sandler's tightly-wound salesman in P.T. Anderson's Punch-Drunk Love, Jarrod has a dark side. Not only is he a habitual liar, but he intends to kill his high school nemesis, Eric (David Fane). At first, Lily supports Jarrod's homicidal plan, but their relationship hits a snag when they travel to his hometown for the big face-off (Waititi plays Jarrod’s brother in flashbacks). Suffice to say, no murders take place during the course of Eagle vs. Shark. Stop-motion sequences (revolving around irregular apples), the Phoenix Foundation's electro-pop score, deleted scenes, outtakes, and audio commentary all contribute to the weird charm of Waititi's first feature. --Kathleen C. After the success of Pulp Fiction, John Travolta continued his meteoric comeback as Chili Palmer, a Mob "mechanic" whose latest assignment takes him to Los Angeles, where his fascination with the movie business turns into a new career as a would-be movie producer. Beer, broads and softball combine with hilarious results in ARTIE LANGE'S BEER LEAGUE, an over-the-top comedy about a group of misfits whose weekly softball games descend more into fights for macho dominance than making home runs. Starring Artie Lange and Ralph Macchio. When love enters his life (Cara Buono), it unexpectedly alters Artie's low self-esteem; and the odds for winningâ€"not only the league trophy but a new lifeâ€"are considerably amped along with the comedy and chaos. It's! appropriate that this extravaganza of lowbrow cinema had its premiere at the 2006 Cinevegas Film Festival, because what happens in Artie Lange's Beer League should stay in Artie Lange's Beer League. Lange is most recognizable for his stint in the Mad TV ensemble, but probably more idolized by the people who will get wild kicks from his leading man debut as the resident guest-baiter and booze/scatological/flatulence/sex joke expert on Howard Stern's radio show. Those are the same kinds of laughs this movie relies on in telling the wisp of a story about a bunch of New Jersey boneheads whose lives are fulfilled by softball games and the beer-guzzling that goes on before, during, and after. Artie's team is proud to be in the bottom ranks of their league, especially when brawls erupt at games against their slick, archrival team. Artie and the rest of his team know these arrogant jerks in their immaculate black (of course) uniforms are unbeatable, so it's on! ly natural that Artie thinks its easier to just beat the hell ! out of t hem. The local cop who's had to deal with both teams finally gets so angry with the escalating brawls that he issues an ultimatum: Whichever team loses the season has to disband and never play on the league again. It's kind of an utterly tasteless version of The Bad News Bears for people who like their movies vulgar, offensive, misogynistic, and often really funny in spite of it all. Some of the subplots and supporting players include Ralph Macchio as one of Artie's childhood friends who's about to get married (cue depraved bachelor party scene with lots of topless babes), Mary Birdsong from Reno 911! as a kooky waitress, and a delightful turn by crusty character actor Seymour Cassel as Artie's teammate Dirt, who may be old but loves booze, fisticuffs, and debauchery as much as anyone. For some reason, Artie's foul-mouthed slobbery attracts a local Jersey girl (Cara Buono), even though he's jobless and still lives with his mom (Laurie Metcalf, who should get so! me kind of good sport award). The buffoonery doesn't just stop with the movie. There's also more than two hour of bonus material tailored for Artie Lange enthusiasts who probably number more than you'd think -- whether they'd ever admit it or not. --Ted Fry

Apple Airport Express MB321LL/A [NEWEST VERSION]

Georgia Rule (Full Screen Edition)

  • Condition: New
  • Format: DVD
  • AC-3; Color; Dolby; Dubbed; DVD; Full Screen; Subtitled; NTSC
No Description Available.
Genre: Feature Film-Comedy
Rating: R
Release Date: 4-SEP-2007
Media Type: DVD When three generations of women collide, it isn't always pretty. In Georgia Rule, Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls) stars as Rachel, a wild child whose mother Lilly (Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives) ships her off to Idaho to be tamed by Georgia (Jane Fonda, On Golden Pond)--Lilly's own cantankerous mom. There, 17-year-old Rachel shocks the conservative community with her short shorts, eager sexuality (which she plies on everyone from 12-year-old boys to unsophisticated, but hot, Mormon neighbors), and her tales of possible sexual abuse at the hands of her somewhat slimy stepfather (Cary Elwes, The Princess Bride).! As directed by Garry Marshall (Beaches, Pretty Woman), Georgia Rule is a flawed chick flick where the women are tolerable but not particularly likeable. The characters we want to know more about are the peripheral ones we don't see enough of--the men. Simon (Dermot Mulroney), the kindly (and sexy) veterinarian who was once madly in love with Lilly, in many ways is the film's moral compass. A widower whose wife and son died tragically in an accident, Simon would've made a more compelling movie subject than these women. And for all his latent pining for Lilly, the moviegoer feels relieved for him that dodged a bullet by not marrying into this dysfunctional family. While the female leads aren't quite believable as mother, daughter, and grandmother, they all have strong moments in the film that save it from being a groaning mess. While Lohan doesn't exhibit the charm she displayed in Mean Girls, she more than holds her own in parts with the scene-st! ealing Fonda, who is quite good at chewing up the scenery. ! --Jae-Ha Kim
